The undersigned warrants Trowelx aggregate interior pool and spa finish material, aggregate only, Finish, against failure for a lifetime, limited from the date of installation pursuant to the terms below. This is a formulated surface system and is a limited warranty which will only be in effect if the batch formulas are followed precisely as directed, the modifier is used if required per the batch formula card, and installed by an Approved Applicator. The aggregates, including but not limited to quartz, pebbles, and glass, the modifier and pigments, either liquid or dry, and cement must be purchased from Trowelx Inc. or The Pool Specialist of Florida Inc.
No Other Warranties: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Trowelx Inc. and its parent, subsidiaries, and affiliates, The Pool Specialist, hereby disclaim all other warranties, whether expressed or implied, including but not limited to any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, and redhibition.
Warranties or Representations by Others: No distributor, dealer, or any other third-party entity has authority to make any warranties or representations concerning the Finish. Accordingly, Trowelx is not responsible for any such warranties or representations.
Other Rights: This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. This warranty supersedes all previous publications.
Limitations:
Lifetime Limited Warranty.
- This limited warranty shall not cover damages to the Finish that have been physically damaged or faded through lack of proper water chemistry balancing or other chemical abuse or sanitation applications. The pool water must be tested and documented monthly by a reputable company using a computer system. Monthly printed reports are required as documentation to initiate a warranty claim, and failure to obtain monthly water chemistry records shall void this warranty. In addition, this limited warranty shall not apply to damage due to structural failure or physical abuse to the pool.
- Warranty coverage for Trowelx is contingent on the use of a modifier if required by and in accordance with the guidelines set forth in the Trowelx batch formula cards provided to the applicator. Trowelx formulas specify a hydraulic white Portland cement, which is cured under water. There is no warranty coverage without proper use of the modifier if required per the batch formula card.
- Some loss of stone is expected, especially in a new application; this is not to be considered a failure or defect. During the curing process, lightly brush the finish daily to help keep the surface clean.
- Trowelx pool finish is not designed to be installed outside of the pool, including but not limited to areas outside a body of water or areas above the water line, including beach entries, raised or rolled beams, gunite slides, negative edges, dam walls, spillways, and waterfalls. This warranty shall not cover Trowelx pool finish material that is installed in such areas.
- Application, exposure, and startup techniques will result in unique variations that are part of this handcrafted process. The colors and highlights of the Trowelx pool finish material will alter with the reflection of the sun. Such variations shall not be considered a defect or failure.
- Trowelx warrants the Trowelx materials only. Trowelx is not responsible for the cost of replacement or repair. If the material is defective, Trowelx will provide the replacement material for only the area of failure. Color will match the existing shade as closely as possible; some cosmetic and color variations may result. Some pool finishes may include seashells. Trowelx cannot guarantee the lasting integrity of shell material against degradation or loss of color.
- The Pool Contractor will have twenty(20) business days after written request of a claim to inspect the application site.
- Warranty is not valid until the Pool Contractor has been paid in full.
- Trowelx shall not be liable for any incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including water and chemical replacement, replacement or repair labor, and loss of use of the pool. Minor surface checking, crazing, and cracks are not covered by this warranty. This finish is not structural. This limited warranty is only valid to the original pool owner listed above and is non-transferable.
- This limited warranty is not valid unless this document is completed in full, signe,d and returned to Trowelx within thirty days of application of the Trowelx pool finish material. Warranty registration must be sent by certified mail, return receipt, which must be retained by the pool owner, to Trowelx Warranty Services, 1211 E Donegan Ave, Kissimmee, Florida, 34744.
- Any and all controversies, claims, or disputes under this warranty shall be settled by binding arbitration.
Optimum Pool and Spa Water Chemistry Conditions
In accordance with the National Plasterers Council Inc. standards, it is recommended that the following pool and spa water chemistry conditions be maintained on an ongoing basis for the longevity of Trowelx aggregate interior pool and spa finish, Trowelx Finish. These values are important to prevent corrosion, deterioration, discoloration, liming or other problems. For more information, refer to your local agency having jurisdiction or NPC.

New pool and spa water: The initial fill water is the most important water that the pool will receive and must be tested, recorded, and adjusted according to the above parameters by an experienced pool professional. For the first thirty(30) days, the pH and alkalinity must be monitored and adjusted if applicable every three(3) to five(5) days. All other chemicals should be monitored and adjusted if applicable every seven(7) to ten(10) days. The pool water must be tested and documented monthly by a reputable company using a computer system. Monitoring the pool water regularly will not only affect the new Trowelx finish but will keep the Trowelx finish looking new. Improper water chemistry will void the lifetime limited warranty.
Although not required, it is recommended that a quality sequestering agent be used in the initial startup in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, and then a recommended maintenance dosage per the sequestering agent’s manufacturer.
